There is something to be said about the talent that was going into rock and pop music during the late 1970s and early 1980s that is no longer happening today. Generally, these days, we want divas and egos for some reason. It seems to me that recently the real talented musicians have gone away from the popular music business and back to jazz, or broadway, or even film soundtracks.
This band, however, is one of those 70s/80s groups that is still around, similar to Chicago, Foreigner, Toto (who allegedly retired but still tour), Springsteen, Howard Jones (who I am taking my eldest daughter to see in October), Peter Gabriel…and others.
Similar to Chicago and Toto, REO Speedwagon does get mocked a bit, but success does that. Best known for their early 1980s release of “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and “One Lonely Night”, these guys have a decent rock side to their pop. This song, Find Your Own Way Home, is the title cut from their 2007 release…yes, 2007, and they are still putting out pop rock. There is a piece on the release I like better (Everything You Feel) but no proper video…this tune is a close second.
