You know, I’m bad.Savannah1-2

I change my mind.

Just Prey – Savannah Book One was written using this band as a soundtrack:

Darwin’s Sword – Savannah Book Two was written using another brilliant musician:

I had intended to use two British musicians as the soundtrack to complete the third.

…but something changed.

I love that last tune, probably more than I love either of the first two. It just doesn’t rock enough. I was mistaken. I love Jones’ work…I love Kershaw’s work…but neither are what I need to kick this job into full gear.

The Orphan Sword needs rock┬án’ roll.

So, a redirect on the soundtrack that I am using during completion of The Orphan Sword. There are some complexities in this new book that require a much heavier kick. It also, unlike the first two, will require more than one musical option.

Both options are much more ego driven bands. At first, I hesitated to go this route, but somehow this lends to the new book.

This first band is relatively new to me. Although, I do know them from their previous cover versions of Genesis’ “Land of Confusion” and Tears For Fears’ “Shout”, I have only begun listening to some of their original catalogue.

The second goes off the rails, a bit. Even Mrs. Stranded won’t be happy with this choice; she wasn’t happy with Rush. While Disturbed will offer the fanfare and theme for the new album, this next band is much more familiar to me. They will offer most of the “bed” soundtrack for The Orphan War:

Now, you can decide whether it’s Van Halen or Sammy Hagar…and though I do enjoy Van Halen with David Lee Roth, I’m much more partial to the Hagar years.

That’s not the point, however. Van Halen…whether “Panama”, “Right Now”, or “Tattoo”…welcome to the soundtrack of The Orphan War

…and, for the record, this next tune will be used for a very specific scene. I have my own tattoos…and this tune talks to me more than any might realize…tattoo, tattoo…
